The Estimator Assistant is responsible for coordinating the execution of bid documents that are accurate, complete and timely to ensure that PCC is a responsive bidder.
Primary Responsibilities
- Gathers signatures, notary stamps, bid bonds, key personnel resumes, past project experience information, insurance documents, and other related information for bid packages
- Assembles and conducts thorough proofreading of bid packages to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance of proposal requirements
- Ensure adherence to proposal deliverables and submission of high quality proposals
- Manages bid invitations, RFI(s), RFQ(s), addenda for all projects out to bid
- Manages, maintains, and organize subcontractor and vendor contacts
- Search for project bid opportunities and presents those opportunities to the Estimator(s).
- Manages the bid schedule, estimating team calendar, and estimating drive folders
- Solicits subcontractors and suppliers for quotes and execute follow up phone calls as needed.
- Leads the charge on good faith efforts (GFEs) for projects with minority goals
- Assists with bid closeout process
- Gathers and submits all post-bid documents required by our clients
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proficient with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
- Must have good business written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
- Must be fluent in English
- Strong customer service skills
- Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
- Great attention to detail
- Exceptional time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize workload
Education and/or Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in the construction industry with basic understanding of the bidding process and public agency requirements
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Notary Public Certification is a plus
