In addition, successful candidates should have experience reviewing complex federal income tax returns, researching the application of IRS laws, rules, regulations, and guidance, and assisting in the formulation of advice. Finally, experience should include professional and ethical interactions with high net-worth individuals with exempt estates.
Responsibilities:
In this role, the associate attorney will assist in requesting, organizing, and reviewing necessary information to provide substantive advice on the structure, strategy, drafting, and execution on complex, non-exempt estate plans; reviewing federal income tax returns and researching guidance on specific issues; and assist in the Firm’s corporate transaction department, including M&A, capital markets, and other corporate issues. Our team of high-performance attorneys focused on collaboration will assist in professional development.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Estate Planning
- Drafting estate plans, trust documents, conveyance instruments, and related documents.
- Researching and applying fiduciary responsibilities to estate plans.
- Testing and evaluating asset values against appropriate IRS regulations governing a private client’s estate tax.
- Knowledge of the tax industry, both federal income tax filings and reporting and estate tax laws, rules, regulations, and guidance.
- Ability to work through complex estate planning for non-exempt estates, as well as related federal income guidance.
- Experience in federal income tax, rather than only the estate and gift tax, is preferred.
