Our esteemed law firm is seeking an experience Estate Planning Paralegal to join our dynamic team. This is an onsite position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the legal field, with a focus on estate planning.
Responsibilities:
As an Estate Planning Paralegal, you will be expected to:
1. Assist attorneys in the preparation, filing, and management of estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and health care directives.
2. Conduct comprehensive legal research on various estate planning matters to support case preparation and strategy development.
3. Attend court hearings, providing essential support to attorneys by taking notes, organizing evidence, and managing case files.
4. Interact with clients, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality while gathering pertinent information and providing updates on case progress.
5. Coordinate with court officials, other attorneys, and service providers to schedule hearings, meetings, and depositions.
6. Maintain an organized and up-to-date case management system, ensuring all case documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
7. Stay abreast of current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to estate planning to provide informed support to attorneys and clients.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the role of Permanent Estate Planning Paralegal, you should possess the following:
1. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within the estate planning sector.
2. A Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved institution or equivalent or equivalent work experience.
3. Proficient in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
4. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
5. Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal information to attorneys, clients, and court officials.
6. Proven experience attending and assisting with court hearings.
7. A high level of professionalism and discretion, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
9. A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
