Position: Estate Planning Legal Secretary 

Location: Bend, OR 

Pay: $62,000 to $75,000 annually 

Experience: 5+ years’ experience providing a high-level support to attorneys while producing a high volume of consistently excellent work product and promoting communication between attorneys and clients. 

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred. 

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire  

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm 

Kent Daniels & Associates is seeking an Estate Planning Legal Secretary to join our dynamic law firm client!    

Job Description:   

• Reading and interpreting Estate Planning documents, and inputting attorney edits. 
• Prepare complex documents, correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents; Interact with clients, attorneys, and other staff; schedule and prepare for meetings. 
• Prepare all files/documents for meetings and attend required meetings. 
• Open new files/client matters, request conflict of interest checks, and maintain all client/general files. 
• Notarize documents, and handle eRecording of documents. 
• Track status of work using BigHand software, input daily updates, including correspondence, scheduled calls/meetings.  
• Handle special projects.  
• Receive clients/visitors.  
• Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of matters. 
• Organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete under time constraints.  
• Professional interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients and attorneys and work within required deadlines. 

Position Requirements:     

• Must have working knowledge of iManage and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
• Knowledge of ProLaw or BigHand (preferred). 
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.  
• Work closely with other administrative support staff (conflicts, records, office services) and participate in legal support team concept.  
• Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and clients by performing the following essential functions.
