Position Summary
Responsible for performing general secretarial and clerical duties. Interact with patients, families and physicians on a daily basis. Assists the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit. Oversees the orderliness of nurses' desk areas and forms and other clerical supplies.
Responsible for providing clerical support for all employees within an assigned nursing unit. Maintains and updates patients' records for a given unit. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. High school diploma with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Strong computer and typing skills, working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
- The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
