About the Job
- Leads the development of highly complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
- Leads design reviews, design requirement collection, drawing creation and revision.
- Researches the application of robotics, automation and new technology to support the build plan.
- Creates off-load packages, specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
- Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
- Establishes and validates spares requirements.
- Leads the implementation of best practices into functional process documentation to drive standard work.
- Oversees the development and documentation of equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and user training.
- Provides technical direction to support engineering changes and discrepancy resolution.
- Oversees the maintenance of hardware and software configuration.
- Assesses and makes recommendations for disposition of equipment and tooling.
- Investigates and develops basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.
- Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.
- Creates specifications, purchase requests and usage instructions for equipment and tooling.
- Self-checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
- Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.
- Researches designs to create and revise usage instructions.
- Provides technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies by investigating problems and analyzing data to identify solutions.
- Maintains hardware and software configuration.
- Supports the disposition of equipment and tooling.
Requirements
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.
Top Must Haves:
- CATIA V5 solid modeling.
- GD&T - Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Working to industry standards.
- Hardware configuration management.
