About the Job
As an Equipment Rental and Retail Associate at Truckee Rents, you'll help local homeowners and contractors with equipment rentals, sales, and service. In this role, you'll ensure rental equipment is prepped for pickup, checked in upon return, and ensure that customers are provided with clear instructions for safe equipment operation. You'll handle basic equipment maintenance like refueling, cleaning, and testing, as well as assemble new equipment for customer pickup or delivery. In your role, you'll also assist with front desk duties such as answering phones, submitting claims, and managing the cash register. In the winter, you’ll play a key role in receiving, assembling, and preparing snowblowers for our customers. Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Tuesday - Saturday
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers, assist with finding products/services, and provide rental instructions
- Operate point-of-sale system to handle transactions, refunds, and customer inquiries via in-person and phone
- Manage reservations and submit warranty claims
- Prep rental equipment for pickup, inspect and service returned equipment, and assemble new equipment for customers
- Maintain store cleanliness, organize stock, and ensure clear walkways
- Lift and carry heavy items (56+ lbs), climb ladders, and perform tasks in all weather conditions
- Collaborate with the team and follow company procedures, including safety protocols
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to use a ladder
- Ability to lift 56+ lbs.

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
