As an Equipment Operator for the City, you will be performing a variety of manual duties that require physical strength and endurance. This position interacts most frequently with other department personnel and may interact with the public occasionally.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Operate and maintain both heavy and light machinery in a safe and effective manner.
- Maintain City tools and equipment in safe and effective operating conditions.
- Ability to safely operator and maintain City vehicles.
- May be assigned temporarily to other departments to provide related support.
- May be requested to respond after hours.
- Will be required to work in setting with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Training, Licenses, and Certifications: Valid Texas driver's license. Ability to obtain a Class A or B commercial driver's license (CDL) within six months of hire date.
