We have an immediate opening for an Equipment Operator in the Denver metro area, including Fort Collins, Grand Junction, and Pueblo in Colorado.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Safely and effectively operate equipment in city limits to load/ haul/ unload material from customer facilities to home base/ job sites.
- Will require to operate 18-speed, 18-wheeler, end dump truck, lowboy, flatbed truck, trailers, backhoe, and forklift equipment.
Requirements:
- Class A license and Fed Med card required.
- Mountain driving experience required.
- Equipment experience is a must – backhoe and forklift.
- Working experience in the utility distribution industry highly desirable, but not required.
Some of the physical demands are:
- Haul spoils from customer facility, home base, and job sites to dump.
- Pick up aggregate material and deliver/dump at home base/ job sites.
- Must operate efficiently without much oversight or supervision.
- Capable of tolerating sitting for long periods of time (up to entire workday) while operating equipment, including the constant use of hand and foot controls.
- Must be able to maneuver under and over the equipment, as well as climb vertical steps into the cabs of machinery.
- Must be able to lift 50+pounds.
- Ability to drive on a stop and start basis daily and continually.
- Lifting, placing of materials, standing, walking, turning, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, crouching, speaking and hearing are required continuously.
- Close vision is required for some functions and distance and peripheral vision is required for safety.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
- Good customer service skills required.
- Must have Time management skills.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and record keeping skills.
- Computer/technology skills preferred – iPad, iPhone, MS Outlook, MS Excel.
- Perform other duties as assigned – ensuring maintenance of tractor/trailer is up to date, help the team
with duties around the yard/buildings during downtime, make trips to outlying cities such as Grand
Junction, Ft. Collins, and Pueblo.
Operators are subject to outside weather conditions in elements and will be exposed to a variety of noise and ground surface temperatures.
Operators must be willing to work overtime as dictated by workload volumes.
Our company is a drug-free environment. This position requires compliance with the company and Federal Department of Transportation (FMSCA or PHMSA) drug testing policies and procedures for both pre-employment and continuing random.
Compensation: $30.19/ Hour.
Pay and benefits determined by union contract. We provide paid sick leave as required by Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.
