Job Title: Equipment Operator
Reports To: Shop Superintendent, Leadman
Role:
The Equipment Operator's primary role is to help keep the Shop Flowing by Prepping Material for the Fitters and Welders.
This Equipment Operator will assist as Required and Directed to complete assignments on time and in budget and reports directly to the Shop Superintendent, Leadman.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Learn to Operate saws, shears, cranes and other shop equipment as needed.
2. Assist Welders and Fitters in metal preparation and fabrication
process.
3. Become proficient with the use of burning equipment.
4. Become proficient at the identification and application of welds.
5. Follow all company policies and procedures for safety.
6. Maintain shop floor organization and cleanliness.
7. Any other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements {Skills, Knowledge, & Experience}
Skills Required:
Experience:
1 year structural and miscellaneous fabrication welding.
Education:
Get AWS D1.1 Certification, as soon as possible

Job/Placement Details:
Shift: First/Days to Start; but MUST be willing to move to the Second Shift once acclimated and doing well, possibly as soon as hired.
Schedule:
First Shift: Monday through Friday from 6:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
Second Shift: 3:30 PM to 12 AM (8 Hours) to 2 AM if 10 Hours.
The Second Shift Always Starts at 3:30 PM.
Overtime Policy: Paid over 40-Hours Worked in a week, Sunday through Saturday, at Time and a Half.
Wage: $16.20 Per Hour
Shift Premium: $2.25 Per Hour
Total Pay Rate: $16.20 Wage Rate + $2.25 Shift Premium = $18.45 Total Pay Rate as of 08-01-2024.

A Pre-Placement Job Site Interview with a Demonstration of Skill Welding Test is required.

- Basic Shop Math, Print Reading and able to properly measure to 1/32 of an inch on a Tape Measure
- Identify Types of Material called for on the Print and the Bill of Material
- Will Train and Learn Equipment Operation, Welding, and Burning
Experience:
1 year structural and miscellaneous fabrication welding.
Education:
