Equipment Design Engineer
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Equipment Design Engineer with a strong emphasis on hydraulics and flow analysis. This role involves designing custom-built solutions for the automation industry, focusing on systems that handle highly viscous liquids. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of hydraulic systems and extensive experience in flow analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability of the equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom equipment solutions for automation applications, with a focus on hydraulic systems handling viscous liquids.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Conduct thorough flow analysis and simulations to ensure efficient and effective handling of highly viscous liquids.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, testing, and project management, to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
- Perform calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and ensure product reliability.
- Select appropriate materials and components to meet design specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve designs.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in hydraulics, flow analysis, and automation technology.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation and specifications.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in equipment design with a strong focus on hydraulic systems and flow analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, and pneumatics, with an emphasis on handling highly viscous liquids.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
Preferences
- Advanced degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems.
- Certification in a relevant field (e.g., PE, EIT).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or R&D environment, particularly with viscous fluid systems.
Contract positions
Will be employed and paid hourly by iMPact Business Group. Benefits (medical, dental & vision) are available after 90 days of employment.
Permanent placed employees
