Summary:
Equal Hope is a non-profit sitting on the Rush University Medical Center Campus. Equal Hope is dedicated to eradicating women’s health racial, ethnic and class disparities and is a mission-oriented healthcare justice organization. Equal Hope is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Financial Coordinator to work closely with the Director of Finance in managing the organization's financial operations. The Financial Coordinator will play a key role in overseeing finances, payroll administration, and ensuring regulatory compliance to support Equal Hope's mission.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of financial regulations, compliance requirements, and payroll processes.
• Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Detail-oriented and resourceful with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• CPA or CFA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director of Finance in monitoring and managing the organization's financial activities, budgets, and forecasts.
• Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
• Maintain and reconcile financial records, including expenses, reimbursements, and accounts payable.
• Support in the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of budgets to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
• Assist in preparing financial reports, statements, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
• Assist in coordinating financial audits and responses to audit inquiries as needed.
• Manage vendor relationships, including invoicing, payments, and vendor communication.
• Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance metrics tracking to support decision-making.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and manage banking relationships.
• Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Assist in financial grant reporting, compliance, and budget tracking for grant-funded programs.
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax filings.
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure integrity and transparency.
• Support in long-term financial planning, investment analysis, and financial goal setting.
• Oversee and maintain our accounting systems, procedures, and policies.
• Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases, using QuickBooks or other software.
• Monitor and review all records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transitions.
• Perform all basic accounting procedures including but not limited to: financial statements, month end closing, journal entries and general ledger maintenance, inventory roll forwards, fixed assets and margin analysis, and maintain schedules for financial statements preparation.
• Review, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts and investment transactions as required.
• Identify complex problems to develop solutions.
• Perform accurate data entry/maintenance in a variety of systems and tools.
• Ability to enter accurate financial/numerical data.
