The Electrical Power Generation Technician (EPG Tech) II – Rotational - is responsible for providing high quality repair service on equipment, in order to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring and timely manner and to ensure maximum value for work performed. This position is designated as a “Rotational” position that usually works a designated rotating schedule, usually in patterns such as 14 days “on,” and 7 days “off” work. The person must travel to and lodge at the assigned work location for the duration of the 14-day work assignment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot problems while providing recommendations for those repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments while providing required information to service dispatcher.
- Follow all documented CSA processes and guidelines.
- Follow Caterpillar guidelines when performing engine overhead measurements and adjustments within six weeks of hire date.
- Generate service reports, required oil samples, and inspections will be completed as service work is performed on the job site and a copy of the paperwork is to be left with the customer.
- Generate service reports, required oil samples, and inspections will be completed and submitted to dispatchers within 24 – 48 hours of completing the service job.
- Follow company and customer safety and contamination procedures including MSHA guidelines when in mining applications.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or three to five years related experience and/or training.
- Preferably AA in Applied Diesel Technology.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed, as well as to fulfill the scheduling structure of a rotational position.
- Clean driving record and require CDL license within 90 days.
- Successfully complete Work steps assessment.
- Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.
- Complete certification of arc flash training.
- Must complete all EPG Level II training and/or demonstrated performance.
- Normally we would expect an employee to be at this level for 24 – 48 months.
- May be required to pass DOT physical.
- H2s, MSHA and lock-out /tag-out certified as required.
