Summary
The Environmental Services Supervisor is directly responsible for the housekeeping and janitorial services necessary to keep the Assisted Living, Independent Living, and common areas of Horizon House clean. Primary responsibilities include housekeeping and janitorial staff supervision, scheduling, and performance management. This position also oversees and supports events, program set ups, and audio-visual needs in coordination with the event coordinator to ensure successful events.
• Support the Environmental Services Manager with tracking, understanding, and achieving key performance indicators for the department.
• Delegate work orders to the appropriate Environmental Services (EVS) staff and ensure proper work order processing, work order data entry, delegation, completion, etc.
• Ensure staff complete transactions in Point-of-Sale system per departmental procedures for any services provided.
• Assist the Environmental Services Manager with applicant interviews for Environmental Services positions. Make recommendations for hire.
• Properly train and equip all Environmental Services staff to perform assigned tasks; document in-service training of staff as required. Ensure Environmental Services staff are knowledgeable about the chemicals they use and understand the SDS information and PPE.
• Develop and manage work schedules for all Environmental Services staff across all shifts. • Ensure meeting rooms and spaces for events and programs are set up by the Environmental Services staff. Provide audio-visual and setup support as needed.
• Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to staff, ensuring alignment with company standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and positive workplace behaviors. Assist the Environmental Services Manager with performance management responsibilities including making recommendations regarding corrective/disciplinary action, evaluations, and recognition.
• Maintain a safe work environment through training, reporting, and maintenance of equipment. • Ensure proper disposal of all waste, recycling, and compost material.
• Conduct regular inspections of event setups and follow up on common area cleaning for quality assurance. Ensure work is performed to standard requirements.
• Support Assisted Living areas for periodic government surveys and inspections.
• Order and maintain budgeted and adequate amounts of supplies and equipment.
Secondary Job Duties
• Assist the Environmental Services Manager with preparation of the annual Environmental Services department budget.
• Assist the Environmental Services Manager with annual Apartment Safety Inspections
• Support Assisted Living, Wellness, Rehab, Styling Salon, and Wellness Clinic in managing their linen needs. • Schedule and oversee interior and exterior window washing of all Horizon House windows.
• Participate in organizational training and Quality Improvement Committees as requested. • Complete other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Education & Specialized Training
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year minimum of general supervisory or management experience required.
• Three (3) years professional janitorial or housekeeping experience.
• Knowledge of floor care; both hard surface and carpet.
• Experience in long-term care or hospital setting. (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with work order systems (e.g., WorxHub). (preferred)

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
