RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to minor source air permitting/Title V permitting and compliance.
- Assist in completing annual emission inventory reports.
- Lead preparation of air permit application packages, including implementation of various control technology analyses.
- Assist with review of air dispersion modeling using EPA approved modeling programs, such as AERMOD, with our air modeling specialists.
- Prepare and submit reports to satisfy specific permitting and compliance requirements.
- Manage all aspects of a Title V project including semiannual reporting and annual compliance certifications.
- Ability to conduct a facility site walk and attend inspections conducted by the local agency.
- Effectively communicate with local and federal agencies on behalf of the client.
- Ensure accuracy of recordkeeping, reporting, and base wide regulatory compliance through proper client communication and data verification.
- Possess strong analytical and communications skills.
- Excellent technical and client relations skills + Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, including technical report writing and data evaluation capabilities as well as detailed field (on-site) observations and associated documentation.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as the skills to operate or work on various types of environmental projects.
- Must comply with Broadbent's quality standards and health and safety policies.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ENVRIONMENTAL SCIENTIST
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or other relevant scientific discipline and 3-plus years of relevant air quality experience in environmental compliance.
- Ability to properly interpret local, state, and federal regulations.
- Working knowledge of Clean Air Act Compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in MS Office products to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Competency in air permitting, compliance, and environmental audits
- Ability to establish working relationships with clients, contractors, and federal agencies.
