Job Description:
• The Environmental & Safety Law Paralegal will perform delegated paralegal tasks under the guidance and direction of attorneys, including but not limited to
• Conducting factual research on environmental and property issues
• Conducting legal research and analysis on environmental regulations and laws
• Reviewing and analyzing environmental and legal reports
• Drafting contracts and correspondence
• Serving as a liaison with business clients and legal teams
• Issue spotting and communicating risks to business clients and attorneys
• Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high-quality work product in a high growth and fast-paced work environment.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• Five plus (5+) years of paralegal experience
• Regulatory, environmental and/or real property experience
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written), including demonstrated writing ability. Must be able to communicate effectively across broad functional and organizational lines
• Team values and a customer service approach
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated judgment
• Ability to maintain high quality performance with competing deadlines
• Demonstrated analytical abilities and research skills
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and initiative; and
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, as well as legal research and matter management applications (including Lexis/Nexis).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program
• Qualities of a highly motivated self-starter capable of working in a team environment and collaborating with in-house counsel, outside counsel, clients, and staff; and
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
