Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety, the Corporate Environmental Resources Manager is responsible for analyzing emissions data, developing compliance strategies and providing technical expertise to support operational and corporate environmental goals. This position requires in-depth knowledge of Federal, State and Local air permitting regulations, with a focus on NY, NJ, CT, MD and OH. In addition, this position will be the based primarily in Stamford, CT, but will also require work at other sites in NYC, NJ, and OH. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Environmental team to prepare, modify and renew air permits and ensure alignment on compliance and operational goals. Responsibilities:
- Evaluate data trends and provide actionable recommendations for achieving compliance and optimizing emissions performance.
- Collaborate with Program Director, site Managers, and other company resources to ensure alignment on compliance and operational goals.
- Assist in implementation and monitoring of the company’s corporate environmental compliance program, with a primary focus on air programs.
- Support overall corporate environmental management and compliance initiatives, including identifying opportunities to reduce regulatory risk.
- Conduct trend analyses to identify key compliance issues and report findings to Senior Leadership.
- Ensure all environmental regulations and standards are met and maintained across all sites.
Qualifications/Skill and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in air regulations, compliance and permitting with a focus on electric generating facilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in air permitting and compliance in NY, NJ, CT, OH and MD.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in analyzing emissions data and using it to drive compliance and operational strategies.
- Knowledge of key regulatory frameworks, including the CAA, Title V Permitting, NSR, PSD and EJ
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and regulatory agencies.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities effectively.
- Must be able to work overtime and extended hours, which can include emergency calls during "off hours".
- Ability to handle complex environmental issues is essential.
- Must be a self-starter with a high degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
- Comfortable working in various settings including a formal office, within a working plant environment, outdoors (in all seasons and all elements), in a boiler room under all conditions.
- Successful applicants must pass respirator physical/fitness test.
- A valid driver's license is required.
