We are seeking a Environmental Project Manager working on federal program cleanup projects. In this role, you will serve as the task manager for one of our teams of 4 – 8 people supporting various branches of the service. You will be responsible for delegation of tasks to the team members, as well as client satisfaction based on the execution, timeliness and quality of the work completed.
Responsibilities:
- Client Point of Contact: While your team members will interact directly with their assigned clients, you will be the lead POC for all clients in your group.
- Task Assignment and Management: Your team will consist of varying levels of environmental scientists who are trained in project support and data management. You will determine the amount of effort that will be needed to support your projects based on contract volume, and work with management and the Environmental Science Discipline Lead to ensure that you have the resources to execute projects. You will be responsible for tasking and overseeing the work done by your team members.
- Quality Assurance: You will be responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of the work product delivered by your team. You will work with management and other Team Leads to maintain and update the plan used for monitoring quality and identifying potential issues across all teams.
- Project Success: You will periodically review all active projects holistically to ensure that the quality of the overall project.
- Contract Hours, Project Profitability and Invoice Review: You will be responsible for monitoring the available hours in each contract’s line items supporting the execution of your projects to ensure that labor is provided appropriately while completing the tasks as required. You will review labor runs and invoices, and work with management and Synectics Business Development Lead to identify and resolve potential issues with time and billing.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Environmental Science or related discipline (geology, chemistry, biology…)
- Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience in the Environmental Industry
- 3-5 years of experience with Department of Defense environmental cleanup programs (preferred but not required)
- Experience coordinating contract deliverables, including delivery schedules and overall quality
- Understanding of metrics used to determine error rates and timeliness issues to support quality management and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with the evaluation of monthly labor runs and invoices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range
There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, number of people reporting to you, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position is: $73,012 - $124,988
