As a Permanent Environmental Project Construction Site Manager - Remediation Oversight, you will be the driving force behind our environmental remediation projects. You will be responsible for the oversight of remediation project work related to complex environmental projects, and managing and coordinating with other contractors. Your role is crucial in managing the environmental impacts of our construction projects, and your expertise will be vital in ensuring the sustainability and safety of our operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee construction site aspects of environmental remediation projects, from planning and design to implementation and completion.
2. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
3. Coordinate with various teams and stakeholders, including engineers, geologists, contractors, and regulators.
4. Prepare and review project plans, reports, and other documentation.
5. Conduct site investigations, assessments, and audits to identify potential environmental risks and develop appropriate remediation strategies.
6. Utilize various tools and technologies, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to design and manage projects.
7. Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.
8. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure timely and successful completion.
9. Conduct training and awareness sessions to promote environmental responsibility and compliance among staff and contractors.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Geoscience, or Chemical Engineering.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project oversight, ideally environmental project management, specifically in the engineering industry.
3. Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS, and other relevant software.
4. Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER.
5. Experience in various environmental assessment and remediation techniques is a plus, including soil gas and surface water sampling, soil boring logging, well construction logs, and aquifer testing.
6. Professional Engineer (PE) certification and EIT or GIT certification are a plus but not required.
7. Experience in managing wastewater, storm sewer, pavement, and water main projects is a plus.
8. Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills. proficiency in confidently managing subcontractors on construction sites
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Experience with Phase 1 environmental site assessments and groundwater sampling is a plus.
