Environmental Professional (Engineer) - BWXT Technical Services Group - NRF-Idaho project, Idaho Falls, ID
Job Description / Duties:
Ensure that the BWSR environmental engineering and waste management programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Attributes to consider include waste characterization, packaging, storage, and disposition; waste minimization and pollution prevention; compliance with RCRA, TSCA, CAA, CWA, NESHAPS, NEPA, CERCLA, and DOT regulations; and applicable procedures, documentation, and recordkeeping.
Essential duties include:
- Prepare sampling and analysis plans in accordance with SW-846 guidelines.
- Interpret laboratory analytical data and characterize materials for disposal in accordance with applicable RCRA and TSCA requirements and disposal facility waste acceptance criteria.
- Ensure work documents specify compliant characterization, management, pakaging, and disposition instructions for project-generated PCB, hazardous, low-level radioactive, low-level mixed, asbestos, industrial, and universal wastes.
- Interface with the client to enusre that BWSR is meeting NRF's environmental and waste management objectives.
- Develop solutions to technical issues associated with environmental engineering and waste management.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
- Environmental Engineering degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Must be a strong team player with the ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external clients.
- Must possess excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" security clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate radiological controls, environmental engineering, and DOT qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowlwdge of RCRA and TSCA regulations pertaining to the management of hazardous, mixed, and PCB wastes.
- Current DOE security clearance.
Pay: $63,000 - $99,000
The base salary range for this position in Idaho (US-ID) at the start of employment is expected to be between $63,000 and $99,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
