**Position Summary:**
As the Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for leading the environmental program for the facility in accordance with federal and state regulations, ensuring compliance while promoting best practices. This position entails the development of strategies aimed at achieving environmental targets, the implementation of monitoring systems, and engagement with regulatory and community stakeholders. Additionally, you will oversee the waste-derived fuels system at the site.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess site environmental performance, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Serve as the corporate liaison for regulatory and community environmental concerns.
- Ensure adherence to environmental permits and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and assist in fulfilling information requests.
- Manage air quality reports, permit renewals, and stack testing procedures.
- Supervise training and certification initiatives, collaborating closely with the Waste Fuels and Environmental Affairs managers.
- Obtain and maintain relevant licenses and certifications related to wastewater and operator compliance.
**Required Qualifications:**
- A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in the environmental sector, preferably in industries such as cement, mining, or related fields.
- Demonstrable experience in collaborating with regulatory agencies.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Proven abilities in problem-solving, leadership, and organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of environmental laws and regulations pertinent to a cement manufacturing environment.
**Preferred Skills and Certifications (bold indicates required):**
- Environmental Engineering expertise.
- Experience in liaising with regulatory agencies.
- Experience in team leadership.
**Ideal Candidate:** The ideal candidate will possess an engineering degree coupled with over seven years of experience in a heavy industry environment, including but not limited to cement, steel, mining, or rubber. Experience managing a manufacturing environment onsite is preferred.
