Concorde Battery Corporation manufactures and supplies specialized batteries for several markets including aircraft. We are currently looking for a driven candidate to start a career in Environmental Health and Safety. Successful candidates will need to fulfill daily production requirements provided by the department supervisor. The candidate will be given hands on training by the supervisor and colleagues; this is an exceptional career opportunity.
Education and Qualifications:
- 1+ years EHS Manufacturing/plant experience preferred.
- Dedication to excellent attendance.
- Must complete pre-employment physical.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm (overtime and Saturdays as needed)
Competencies:
- Complete all environmental health and safety inspections and reports on time.
- Observe and analyze work environments daily to ensure all environmental health and safety rules are being followed and appropriate PPE is being worn.
- Enforce proper policy and procedure compliance.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of all environmental health and safety activities.
- New hire environmental health and safety orientation training.
- Contractor orientation training.
- Conduct field testing to gather environmental health and safety data.
- Schedule and oversee monthly blood draw.
- Oversee incoming and outgoing hazardous shipments, including completion of hazardous waste manifests.
- Provide backup to the waste water treatment operator job duties.
- Maintain adequate PPE and first aid inventory at all times.
- Research vendors for best PPE pricing available.
- Injury documentation including reporting and assessment, also following up with the injured worker.
- Maintain the needed certifications and training to complete the day-to-day tasks, including off site training.
- Maintain facility SDS database as well as record and compile information on data sheets for all equipment and treatment systems.
- Maintain good working relationships and frequent communication with department supervisors.
- Participate in risk/safety reviews of operating facilities.
- Participate in regular safety meetings.
- Participate to keep facility environmentally compliant.
- Comply and communicate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies..
