About the Role:
As an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our commitment to safety. Reporting to the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs Manager, you'll be the go-to person for all things related to EHS programs and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain our EHS plan, ensuring it aligns with regulations and best practices.
Lead by example by overseeing daily operations to ensure all employees prioritize safety.
Analyze job and work site hazards, collaborating with employees and management to implement effective controls.
Conduct regular inspections and audits to address safety concerns promptly.
Utilize monitoring equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure proper maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective gear.
Lead safety event investigations and root cause analyses, driving continuous improvement.
Coordinate and deliver EHS-related training sessions.
Maintain compliance with EPA and OSHA requirements, reporting environmental and injury data as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or associate degree in environmental health and safety or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and accident investigation requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Strong organizational abilities and self-motivation.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in a nuclear industrial environment or as a Radiation Safety Officer.
Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001 EHS management systems.
First aid and/or CPR certification.
