EHS & Facilities Manager
The Environment, Health, Safety, and Facilities Manager ensures that all regulatory permit obligations are completed on schedule and all personnel are trained to provide a safe and efficient workplace. This role will develop a long-term strategic planning process for the entire Company operations, including space planning and other facility projects required to support production capacity and ensure facility operations run safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively. Manages daily facility operations, including project management of infrastructure installations, preventative maintenance and repair services, and other upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Environmental, Health & Safety
- Manage the Environmental, Health, and safety program, including acting as Environmental Safety Leader and Waste Treatment Safety Officer.
- Coordinate training programs to instruct personnel in the proper procedures for using equipment and hazardous materials before use, at periodic intervals (refresher training), and as required by changes in procedures, equipment, regulations, etc.
- Perform annual safety program audits to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations.
- Ensure that regulatory permitting and periodic reporting are completed on schedule, including overseeing and managing hazardous waste, materials, and equipment.
- Implement and maintain Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Injury and Illness Prevention, Respiratory, Environmental Management System, and Health and Safety Management System plans.
- Coordinate with Human Resource and Manufacturing teams to organize and conduct Job Hazard Assessments.
- Participate in EHS team calls and projects, report required metrics, and implement EHS initiatives (Safety Share, Safety Day, Safety Video).
- Carry out procedural tests (e.g., spill tests, fire drills, disaster recovery checks).
- Coach and support area owners to manage risk assessments and manage day-to-day health & safety issues.
Facilities/Maintenance
- Manage facility maintenance, service, and construction projects, including defining the scope of work, managing vendor bids, creating a schedule, coordinating and managing vendors, and managing project execution through completion.
- Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
- Inspect the buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
- Review utilities consumption and propose and implement plans to minimize costs.
- Manage and coordinate external contractors (janitorial, groundskeepers, plumbing, electrical, technicians, etc.).
- Control activities such as parking allocation, waste disposal, and building security.
- Participate in space planning and allocation activities.
- Negotiate and maintain service contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor’s degree or at least five plus (5+) years of experience in PCB and waste treatment.
- Minimum three (3) years of Environmental, Health, and Safety-related experience within a manufacturing production environment.
- Minimum three (3) years of facilities/maintenance management experience in corporate/production/manufacturing.
- 2-4 years in a leadership position, managing direct reports and motivating teamwork
- Demonstrated understanding of local, federal, and state regulations
- Ability to demonstrate the development and deployment of safety programs in a corporate and distribution environment, including training operators and knowledge of safety requirements for chemistry.
- Working knowledge of necessary industry-related tools & equipment
- Experience with computer operating systems, such as MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Publisher, MS Planner, MS Teams, MS Schedule, PDF forms & other systems.
- Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide helpful insight into project details.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a passion for ensuring projects proceed efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be flexible to work extended hours to meet work requirements and be on-call for emergencies based on company needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that a manager must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the manager is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 25 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.
California Salary Range: $125,000- $135,000/ Per Annual Salary and Benefit Perks
