This company is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer who will work to promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliance workplace through the development and implementation of company policies, procedures, guidelines, and equipment. This role will play a crucial part in complying with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. This person will assist with the development and design of facilities, work areas, procedures, and provide expert recommendations in efforts to uphold continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental standards.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Industrial Technology, or
related field
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles and safety, health, and
environmental laws
- Ability to identify and address unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
- Familiarity with MS Office or related software
- Availability to come in for emergencies on off hours
PREFERENCES
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure company compliance to environments, health and safety regulations through
implementation and maintenance of company policies.
- Create and maintain environmental, health, and safety policy and procedure manuals while
staying up to date in EHS laws and regulations and upholding the company's compliance.
- Control, monitor, and assess industrial hygiene including lighting, noise, heat, humidity,
radiation, and chemical exposure.
- Perform facility tours and engage with workers when identifying and mitigating safety risks.
- Create reports highlighting hazardous procedures, equipment, and risks.
- Develop and implement systems to report, monitor, and correct safety concerns.
- Provide training and guidance on the best safety and environmental practices through
bulletins, documentations, and meetings.
- Work with OSHA representatives and other regulatory safety professionals during audits and
inspections, ensuring corrective actions are documented and completed.
- Implement a proactive approach to hazard prevention and safety including loss-control
policies and procedures.
-Stay up to date on hazard prevention and best practices, equipment, and developments.
-Participate in the design and development of work areas and procedures offering
improvements to comply with environment, health and safety goals.
