About the Job
The Environmental, Health & Safety Supervisor (EHS) will be responsible for providing support to Cordoba Corporation’s Director of Operations, Safety Manger, the project management team, supervisors, foremen and workers. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements. This individual should possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to team members, executives, and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:- Monitors, maintains, and updates ISNetworld, Gold Shovel Standard, Avetta, and Veriforce safety sites and reports and maintains the safety EMR ratings.
- Assists the Safety Manager with training for Cal/OSHA and Client required such as New Hire Safety Orientation briefings, and annual requirements for programs such as Pandemic Preparedness, Wildfire Smoke Prevention, Workplace Violence Prevention programs and reporting requirements.
- Ensures effective implementation of the Heat Illness Prevention Program (HIPP).
- Confirms that all workers and sub-contractors report all recordable injuries and near-miss incidents within the required timelines
- Assists with field training, mentoring and implementation of the HS&E programs.
- Assists in presenting safety metrics and performance reports to management
- Works with Safety Manager to develop safety communications and awareness campaigns
- Build relationships with client safety representatives
- Maintains training records and certification requirements
- Assists in Development of a Site Safety Management Plan (SMP) as required to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors, and community. Provides audits of the SMP for compliance and update to ensure the alignment with project scope and conditions as required.
- Evaluates the organization’s procedures, facilities and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions.
- Ensures all required Cal OSHA and other safety postings are maintained and current.
- Assists the Safety Manager with incident investigations and root cause analyses, review reports of injuries, property damage, unsafe work conditions or practices, claims involving company workers and subcontractors.
- Verifies appropriate PPE use, availability, and training, conducting frequent safety briefings for team members (e.g., fall protection, confined space entry) and appropriate ergonomic set-up and evaluation.
- 2-4 years as a Safety Supervisor with experience in developing and implementing accident prevention programs, creating and monitoring KPI’s
- Effective written, oral, interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organization and motivational skills and outstanding attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
- Safety Certification, Credential, or License from one of the following agencies (BCSP, LSP, CSM, CIH)
Preferred:
- Completion of the OSHA 500 and/or 40-hour HAZPOWER course is preferred.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
Work Environment: Onsite
Physical requirements include the ability to perform essential physical tasks such as climbing, standing, stooping, and typing. The role may also involve lifting items ranging from (up to 10 – 50+ pounds).
