Your role will involve performing essential field and office environmental engineering functions while providing technical support to ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, GIS, and scientific data collection will be key as you oversee environmental compliance activities at the mine site. Are you the Environmental Engineering Technician we're looking for?
To succeed as an Environmental Engineering Technician at Wolverine Fuels, you must possess proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, GIS, and scientific data collection to support field and office environmental engineering functions. The role requires overseeing compliance activities for mining operations, conducting fieldwork, providing computer support, and managing regulatory inspectors. You will be responsible for greenhouse gas calculations, regulatory report development, and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations. Preferred qualifications include a minimum of two years of experience with AutoCAD and Windows, fieldwork experience in water monitoring and greenhouse gas monitoring. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for managing multiple tasks independently. This position reports to the Engineering Manager/Senior Environmental Engineer.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Responsible for performing all required field/office environmental engineering functions and associated technical support. Oversee environmental compliance activities for the surface and underground mining operations. Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office
- GIS
- scientific data collection and knowledge of regulatory compliance involved at the mine site.
- RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Fieldwork
- computer support
- greenhouse gas calculations and reporting
- oversight of regulatory inspectors
- compliance with environmental issues
- managing of and development of various regulatory reports. The technical support will involve maintenance of both state and federal regulatory programs including the Clean Air
- Water
- Resource Conservation
- and Surface Mining Control and Reclamation acts
- and provide oversight of engineering consultants.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years of experience using AutoCAD and Windows
- Two years of experience in field work including water monitoring data collection
- greenhouse gas monitoring
- and orienteering skills.
- Fire Boss certification.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- both written and oral
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Associate degree or an ability to obtain a scientific bachelor degree
