Position Overview:
The Novelis EHS team is seeking an Environmental Intern. The person in this role will report to the Environmental Manager. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives and conducting research on environmental policies and regulations. The primary project will include collecting, assembling, and analyzing air pollution control equipment and technologies, as well as assembling results of emissions sampling. The intern will create a matrix of pollution controls by plant with effectiveness. This position will add value to the organization by providing fresh insights and helping to ensure that Novelis remains at the forefront of environmental sustainability in its industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental sustainability initiatives
- Conduct research on environmental policies and regulations
- Collect, assemble, and analyze air pollution control equipment and technologies
- Assemble results of emissions sampling
- Create a matrix of pollution controls by plant with effectiveness
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on project progress
- Collaborate with other departments to collect environmental information
Minimum Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or work experience in an environmental or sustainability role
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability best practices
- Experience with data analysis and report writing
- Strong interest in environmental sustainability
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI
