Davis & Floyd is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team! This position can be based in our Charleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Greenwood, SC office. We are a multi-disciplined firm that has been providing quality engineering services to our clients since 1954. This candidate will become part of a team that provides environmental and civil engineering services to a wide variety of clients. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and work on specialized environmental projects, environmental compliance and monitoring programs, and regulatory approval compliance for public, industrial, and commercial facilities.
- Perform environmental analysis and provide documentation support for environmental studies/documents. Research and prepare sections of environmental and planning documents, including initial studies, environmental impact reports, and other similar documents.
- Prepare environmental compliance audits, compliance reports and plans, and other technical documents. Perform routine monthly and annual reporting as required for state, federal, and corporate needs.
Experience in two or more of the following areas or practices preferred:
- Air permitting, modeling and compliance. Understanding of federal and state air quality regulations and policies and emerging regulatory programs.
- Industrial Wastewater Treatment design and permitting.
- Site specific SPCC & SW3p plans, implementation planning, and training.
- Solid Waste Management, design, permitting, and compliance. Familiar with the geology/hydrogeology, groundwater modeling, and assessments.
- Civil Site planning / designs for Industrial Facilities and Site Improvements including stormwater modeling, permitting, bid documents and specifications.
- Asbestos and lead surveys, abatement, and demolition planning.
- Full understanding of environmental permitting, regulatory analysis, the NEPA process and document preparation. Ability to prepare/coordinate all levels of NEPA studies and oversee a team of planners preparing these documents.
- Hazardous waste management and compliance as well as Form R and EPCRA Reporting.
- Indoor Air / Mold Studies and Remediation.
- Noise Studies, modeling, and mitigation plans.
- Evaluate contaminated sites: perform Phase I ESA's and Phase II assessments and remedial action plan design and implementation services for clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and development and implementation of programs.
- Ability to provide environmental guidance in emergency situations and release response, including agency reporting as required.
- Project Management Skills including interaction with local and state environmental agencies, direct communication with clients, and develop internal and external marketing strategies to assist in department growth.
- As well as support development of cost estimates and proposals. Track and maintain project budgets and schedules.
- Demonstrated career growth in environmental planning for a consulting firm.
- Valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record required.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
