The Environmental Department Manager will support the Environmental Service aspects of our Building and Construction business throughout Kansas and Missouri.

How you'll make an impact at Intertek:
- Manage clients, staff, and projects ranging from small to large scale complex scope of work
- Lead the sales process to include development and implementation of sales plans utilizing Business Development Manager(s) and project manager staff
- Responsible for overseeing multi-discipline consulting services including, but not limited to environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations, remediation design and implementation, Missouri Brownfields/ Voluntary Cleanup Program (BVCP)Voluntary Cleanup and/or Kansas Voluntary Cleanup and Property Redevelopment Program (VCPRP), Underground Storage tank Programs in Kansas and Missouri, industrial hygiene (indoor air quality, asbestos, lead, mold, etc.) and more
- Responsible for managing staff, including scheduling, personnel hiring, mentorship and training, and regular performance reviews, etc
- Responsible for managing and reporting all financial aspects of the department on a monthly basis
- Responsible for managing the internal Project Management process for preparing and submitting environmental consulting proposals and reports according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- BS in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Industrial Hygiene is required
- Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record is required
- 12+ years of related office group management experience and P&L growth required
- Professional registration/certification is preferred (P.G., P.E., CHMM, CIH, CSP).
- Knowledge of state of Kansas and Missouri statutes and experience in their funded programs a plus
- Experience in preparing public sector (city, county, and state) submittals and managing associated projects required
- Must be able to multiple task with staff, clients, project deadlines, and assignments
- Must be able to perform tasks in varying field/office conditions
- Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have knowledge of remedial applications (insitu, traditional, innovative, etc.), design implementation, and system operation and maintenance
- Must have client experience and be able to interact and build relationships with clients
