About the Job
Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
- While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security.
- Performs data quality review/data validation to ensure all data produced by N3B meets the necessary standards for quality.
- Implements sample and/or data management programs in accordance with plans, procedures and regulations.
- Ensures data quality in conformance with DOE Orders and other applicable rules, regulations, and guidance.
- Interfaces with N3B data generators to ensure quality requirements are met.
- Provides subject matter expertise for sample plan development and implementation.
- Supports the N3B environmental sampling program to ensure the necessary standards for quality.
- Utilizes databases associated with sample and data management programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Skill and ability to perform highly advanced field analysis tasks; fully competent in all areas.
- Ability to perform substantially varied and most complex duties.
- Ability to handle the most complex issues and questions that cannot be handled by lower levels.
- Ability to adapt procedures and processes as necessary to perform tasks.
- Ability to train and mentor more junior team members.
- Ability to serve as lead to lower level positions.
- Can work under very limited review of daily work.
- Level of language skills, mathematical skills, communication skills, reasoning ability and computer skills necessary to perform essential functions of the job.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelors' degree in appropriate discipline; however, a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (Medium Work):
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to work in high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation and vibration. The noise level may be loud due to equipment or machinery used.
Medium Work Category - The employee exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, to reach with hands and arms, and to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
