ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST WITH STRONG DATA MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
This position involves the implementation of project work associated with sediment, soil, water, air and biota investigations. You will also be performing online research helping to develop inventories of scientific literature and publicly available technical studies related to the monitoring and measurement of certain chemical compounds and the ecological and toxicological effects thereof.
You will also be preparing analytical chemistry and other environmental data for loading into a database.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conduct literature and public data research utilizing appropriate online research tools; analyzing results for relevancy and completeness.
* Compile and maintain an inventory of datasets for consideration by Subject Matter Experts for inclusion in a database of chemical, biological, and toxicological parameters.
* Extract and transform analytical chemistry data from public sources into spreadsheet templates that are loaded by others into a database.
* Employ knowledge of analytical chemistry and other environmental data and methods to accurately extract and transform source data in preparation for database assimilation.
* Provide technical knowledge of environmental data and methods to support the data management team.
* Coordinate activities with data source subject matter experts to ensure integration, data integrity and data quality.
* Work with both business and technology team members.
* Work independently.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* BS in environmental-related discipline (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, or environmental science).
* 5+ years of related work experience.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Team player, collaborative.
* Critical thinker, good problem solver.
LOCATION
" This position will be either on site at the Norwell, MA office or office/home hybrid.
