Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedules sampling for water and/or wastewater systems and assists operators and managers with sampling issues.
- Records and monitors test results in the Aqua compliance database and/or spreadsheets.
- Organizes and tracks compliance data for inclusion in reports, including field data. Plots and graphs data and tracks compliance. Drafts compliance reports and ensures timely filing of all compliance reports and permits. Identifies gaps in documents or potential areas of non-compliance and suggests resolutions.
- Performs regular review of water and wastewater analytical data and makes recommendations to the department leadership to ensure compliance or when non-compliance occurs.
- Reviews inspection reports and regulatory correspondence. Meets with operators and managers to discuss regulatory information. Works with engineering and/or management to draft responses.
- Prepares and submits necessary paperwork for reduced monitoring for any contaminant that allows reductions from the base monitoring frequency.
- Facilitates and participates in training of operations staff on compliance matters. Provides regulatory updates to facility operators of any new sampling requirements and provides periodic updates of laboratory results to operations.
- Coordinates, drafts and issues any public notices. Partners with management, engineering and PR staff as needed on communications.
- Researches and provides pertinent information to department leadership in response to state violations, i.e., monitoring/maximum containment level violations.
- Serves as a company representative to discuss water quality issues with customers who contact Aqua. Performs and logs phone conversations and mails test results to customers.
- Prepares annual Consumer Confidence Reports (CCR) for all systems in accordance with annual deadlines. Prepares CCR certifications for each system.
- Files all documentation in accordance with department operating procedures.
- Performs other related activities as requested.

Education, Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, or chemistry preferred
- Experience working with databases and computerized maintenance management systems preferred
- Valid US Driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Possess or be able to develop a thorough working knowledge of environmental regulations enforced by multiple state and federal agencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively (clearly, concisely, and professionally) with internal and external stakeholders
- Good analytical and investigative skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Occasional travel to meetings or conferences
- Light lifting work, occasionally lifts 10 pounds and frequently lifts 25 pounds.
