General Purpose
Oversee the operation and maintenance activities of the Idaho Falls Pole Yard Hazardous Waste remediation site. Conduct groundwater monitoring at select company sites in accordance with site specific plans and State and Federal groundwater collection procedures. Prepare, present, and report groundwater monitoring data to contractors, management, and regulatory agencies. Participate in environmental remediation and reclamation efforts across the company environmental liability sites. Specifically, this position will provide professional level services for ensuring the company complies with state and federal laws and regulations relating to environmental remediation and reclamation activities.
Responsibilities
• Operate the Idaho Falls Pole Yard treatment facility and monitor the performance and conduct maintenance activities required to ensure the facility is functioning as designed.
• Hire and manage contractors for activities required to operate and maintain the Idaho Falls Pole Yard in compliance with federal and state permit requirements.
• Conduct semi-annual groundwater monitoring and sampling at the Idaho Falls Pole Yard and other company groundwater monitoring locations.
• Manage environmental remediation efforts at company environmental liability sites.
• Monitor environmental data collection and ensure that reporting is carried out in accordance with company policy and state regulations.
• Analyze financial analyses of environmental impacts on environmental liability sites.
• Analyze budget forecasts and actual performance of budgeted activities for assigned environmental services.
• Provide accurate input into the budget process and contribute to meeting the actual targets.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences or Engineering, Chemistry; or the equivalent combination of related education and experience.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in environmental or regulatory matters, including groundwater monitoring and sample collection in remote locations.
• Working knowledge and understanding of environmental issues and the company’s business processes.
• Data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling skills.
• Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
• Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and present information.
• Communication and interpersonal skills including ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds and ability to work as a member of a team.
• Ability to prioritize workload under pressure.
• Ability to travel frequently for project site visits, internal trainings, audits, and meetings.
Preferences
• Groundwater monitoring certifications, including but not limited to Certified Groundwater Professional (historic)
• Management of environmental remediation and reclamation projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting.
• Knowledge of natural resource issues related to the energy industry.
• Specialized knowledge of water quality issues.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 12.00% of salary.
