Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking an **Entry Level Traffic Engineer** to work in **Birmingham, Alabama** . _This position is expected to begin as soon as possible._ The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for traffic engineering projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer. + Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. + Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision. + Will work with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SignCAD, Synchro, CENTRACS, and other applicable programs. + Will work with microsimulation software such as VISSIM and Synchro or TransModeler to create traffic models and simulations. + Research and analyze emerging technologies such as connected vehicles, automated vehicles, adaptive signal control technology, and communications networks. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. + Ability to obtain Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) required within 6 months. + Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as of AutoCAD and MicroStation). + Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this position. + Sponsorship is available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
