Job DescriptionWe are seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our growing NorCal Civil engineering team in Sacramento. This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and early-career professionals to advance their civil engineering careers while working on diverse infrastructure projects.
- Assist in Project Design and Development: Contribute to civil engineering design projects, including site plans, grading, drainage, and utility designs, under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Prepare Engineering Calculations and Documentation: Create calculations, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D; support technical reports and construction documents.
- Conduct Site Visits and Field Investigations: Collect data, monitor project progress, and ensure compliance with design standards and safety protocols.
- Support Project Coordination and Scheduling: Help maintain project schedules and documentation, and assist with permits and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Participate in project meetings, work with contractors and vendors, and contribute to sustainable design and environmental compliance efforts.
- Research and Stay Updated on Industry Standards: Engage in research to support innovative engineering solutions and uphold best practices in civil engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification, or a clear path to obtain within the next six months.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Understanding of civil engineering principles and design practices.
- Familiarity with relevant codes and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits.
- Capacity to move around project sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
- Occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials.
Additional Information
Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of $64,000 - $80,000, determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
