SCOPE OF ROLE:
This is an exciting time for S:US as we have a dynamic and growing pipeline of affordable and supportive housing, with 1000 units in construction and another 1500 in predevelopment. S:US is among the two largest providers of supportive housing in New York State, and among the largest nationally. In addition, the Executive Team at S:US has identified a goal of creating an additional 20,000 units of housing by 2035. This newly created position will help S:US achieve this goal by keeping all of our housing entities in regulatory compliance.
Under the supervision of Senior Project Manager & Corporate Secretary, the Entity Compliance and Formation Associate will support a variety of compliance initiatives within the Finance and Real Estate Departments. These initiatives will include, among others, making the necessary filings under the 2024 FinCEM Act, coordinating the formation of new corporate entities involved in the development of S:US affordable housing initiatives, coordinating with external partners on jointly-owned and controlled entities properties, and coordinating with other S:US teams to ensure that all S:Us sponsored entities are (1) making all required regulatory filings with New York City, New York State and the Federal Government (2) having the required financial audits on an annual basis; (3) are otherwise in compliance with lender, investor and regulatory requirements. The Entity Compliance and Formation Associate will also arrange for all S:US and external signatures as required by the above.
Job Requirements:
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring compliance with the FinCEN Act 2024, including initial Beneficial Ownership Information filings and any follow ups- this includes both existing and all new entities.
- Keeping the master list of all S:US real estate related entities, both for profit and not for profit, and ensuring that, for each entity:
- All required regulatory filings are made with New York City, New York State and the Federal Government;
- Have the required financial audits on an annual basis (or more often if required);
- Are otherwise in compliance with lender, investor and regulatory requirements.
- As directed by the Real Estate department, coordinates signature of new entity forms and ensures filing of such with proper government agencies.
- Schedules meetings with S:US staff and external partners and professionals;
- Taking notes during relevant meetings and following up with colleagues and partners to move projects toward completion
- Work closely with Vice President of Affordable Housing, SVP: Real Estate, Comptroller, Director of LP Finance, CFO, and as well as other Support Services staff to coordinate above activities.

REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, real estate associate or office administrative positions
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- LNYS Licensed Notary Public
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Preferred Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associates Degree
- Familiar with corporate entities and structures, particularly in the real estate field
- Must display ability to complete tasks/projects on-time
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail
