Summary: We are seeking an Enterprise Systems Monitoring Tech to join our team in Eagan, MN. This role involves monitoring a large-scale computing infrastructure, managing incident calls, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. Ideal candidates will have help desk experience, knowledge of networking, and basic familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Position Info:
- Title: Enterprise Systems Monitoring Tech
- Client: Peraton
- Duration: 3 Months
- Location: 2825 Lone Oak Pkwy, Eagan, MN 55121
- Clearance: Public Trust
- Work Schedule: 11 pm - 7:30 am CT, including weekends. Initial training on first shift (M-F) for the first two weeks.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the day-to-day operation of a large-scale computing infrastructure involving 300+ applications.
- Determine the cause of alarms and take appropriate actions including logging alerts, creating service tickets, and notifying stakeholders.
- Initiate, maintain, and manage critical incident phone bridges (WebEx, Zoom).
- Act as the service incident lead, maintaining incident tickets, notifying executive leadership, and following up on resolutions.
- Assist in triage and incident management with the collection and analysis of performance metrics.
- Support development teams in deployment activities by executing change requests or tasks maintaining SOX compliance.
- Compose and send notifications to management for incidents.
- Monitor and execute incident and change requests.
Skills/Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 5 years of additional experience OR a Bachelor’s degree and minimum 1 year of IT experience.
- Past experience with help desk or incident management.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of networking.
- Basic understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Ability to identify and relay information and symptoms detected by monitoring tools.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions or procedures.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an associated discipline (Preferred).
- Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance – US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years, and must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
