About the Job
A prestigious financial services organization is looking to add a Senior Enterprise Data Steward to their team. In this role, the Senior Enterprise Data Steward will be responsible for driving the governance of data throughout the AD Enterprise as well as working across Data Management Executives, Local Data Officers, Data Stewards and Data Owners to properly govern data, ensuring consistent use throughout the organization.
***This is a hybrid opportunity requiring the qualified professional to work in their White Plains, NY, NYC or Jersey City offices.***
Responsibilities:
The Senior Enterprise Data Steward will:
- Lead a matrix community of stakeholders across all branches, Group Companies and Corporate functional team to ensure all Key Data Elements (KDEs) have data stewards and data owners and other required metadata per framework and policy
- Evaluate, propose enhancements, and manage KDE definitions and attributes in the data glossary, including Authoritative Source identification
- Chair the Enterprise Data Stewardship Council and coordinate sub-working groups as needed for formal compliance with Standards
- Provide expertise and in partnership with Technology, Data Management Executives, Data Stewards and Data Owners, document Data Lineage for all KDEs
- Implement new and improve existing processes to ensure compliance with standards is auditable, measurable and reportable
- Ensure the Business Stewards document Data Quality Controls for KDEs, and work within Data Governance Operations to hand off to DQ Manager
- Lead a monthly KDEs onboarding prioritization forum with the Enterprise Domain Manager Executives to agree on scope of monthly book of work
- Lead the legacy business glossary cleanup to ensure proper definitions, Data Domains assignments and metadata are captured
- Handle business glossary maintenance and integrity within the Data Governance tool (IGC or Collibra)
- Oversee the migration of the current business glossary to next generation platform
- Capture and report on KDEs related metrics
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of comparable or relevant experience in a Chief Data Office or Data Governance role
- Significant Operational experience with hands-on leadership of Data Governance processes
- Expert knowledge of Data Stewardship and Data Governance practices
- Functional Knowledge of Data Governance and Data Lineage tools
- Tangible experience requiring leadership and people skills to enable positive engagement across a broad organizational landscape
- High level of Program and Project Management experience with data and technology centric initiatives
- Significant experience in KDEs onboarding effort, definitions creation/ evaluation and metadata capture
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- Experience in Collibra, SQL queries generation and understanding of relational databases
