Enterprise Data Product Owner (Hybrid)
This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.
Our Team
The Enterprise Data Product Owner is a proxy for the data consumer and provides the data development team the functional and technical requirements for what needs to be built. Works with business systems analysts, business stakeholders, and users to understand needs and to define data-oriented solutions, such as business intelligence and analytics, operational reports and dashboards, etc.
This position is responsible for developing the vision for the data teams. Works with data development teams to define the product backlog and share responsibility with the teams to create actionable user stories, refine and prioritize the work in the backlog, and accept the completed user stories to make sure the work fulfills the acceptance criteria. Is responsible for developing and delivering new capabilities and enhancements to the current and future enterprise data strategy and needs at Eversource. This position will monitor cost and performance of existing data products and services, meet with other IT and business teams to understand current and emerging enterprise data needs, perform technical and business analysis on various enterprise data solutions and communicate results to both IT and business partner teams.
This position will also manage a technical staff to ensure the team has the human resources in place to plan, design, deliver, operate, and support. This position will review and analyze Eversource’s current and projected technology systems and projects to determine staffing requirements. This position will develop and execute recruiting and training programs to meet anticipated requirements and will provide overall leadership as it relates to developing, advising, teaching, mentoring, providing career guidance and professional development counseling, and providing feedback on overall performance.
Essential Functions:
- Plans and prioritizes needs in the form of a backlog and prioritizes their development.
- High level of collaboration with various business teams to drive product decisions and prioritization of requirements.
- Supervises junior product owners, business analysts, and technical staff.
- Supports stakeholders; identifies areas of improvement and works with individuals and teams to implement these improvements.
- Manages relationships with vendors to ensure that the services provided are high quality and cost effective.
- Supports the IT development process and project lifecycle end-to-end along with developing test plans, cases and participating in the testing and approval of new functionality implementations.
- Identifies business requirements and codifies into well-defined specifications, stories and supporting artifacts that articulate simple, elegant solutions to consumer problems.
- Identifies risks which could jeopardize the deliverables and results of Eversource initiatives or objectives.
- Provides business and technical consultation to management, users and staff.
- Develops and monitors operating budgets

- Possess initiative to think several steps ahead in the new cloud environment and anticipate needs of customers employees, and partners.
- Must be technically-oriented with the ability to write and interpret requirements, QA releases and interact effectively with technical resources.

- Good analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable plans and tactics.

- Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and email.)
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

Education:
- Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.), or applicable work experience.
Experience:
- Eight (8) to Ten (10) years of work experience preferably working within an IT or data organization.
- Preference given to individuals that have a solid understanding of Eversource’s data IT applications, and business processes associated with those applications.
- Licenses:
- Agile and/or Six Sigma certifications preferred
Working Conditions:
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.

Compensation and Benefits
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $123,750 to $137,500.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
