Lead the long range planning for the structure and interaction of the enterprise's major types/sources of data, information needs, and business processes/strategy.
A career in our Architecture and Data Science organization will provide you with a unique opportunity to lead transformation and strategic initiatives for a leading transportation and logistics provider. As an Enterprise Architect, this position is focused on long-term architecture and strategy for solutions for supply chain automation at the enterprise and SAFe portfolio levels. Daily activities will include engagement with business and IT architects to determine impact assessment, decompose and analyze strategic initiatives. In this position, you will work in close partnership strategic business partners and architects to define architectural guidance for program-level product teams and development teams to solve problems with high system interdependency. You will be a leader in enterprise architecture, inform the development of cross-functional, multi-platform systems, engage with enterprise and solution architects across FedEx and mentor other architects.
Additionally, this position works closely with and engages business and technical stakeholders at all levels of the FedEx Enterprise to translate FedEx business strategy and initiatives into actionable strategic roadmaps. The Enterprise Architect will work with stakeholders and architects to identify and define enterprise capabilities, create conceptual architecture, build out a long-term roadmap, and create durable and initiative-based architectural artifacts for the consumption of the teams to execute with a business value driven approach. This will require understanding of the impact and influence of broader industry and technology trends on the strategic business vision to recommend action plans for our global operations and to executive leadership.
Abilities/Knowledge/ Skills Considered a Plus:
- Manage segments of the enterprise business capability model and provide business architecture and solution architecture viewpoints, recommendations and roadmaps in support of key enterprise strategies.
- Understanding of the issues related to the decision-making process; ability to analyze situations fully and accurately, and reach productive decisions.
- Knowledge and ability to create and evolve an enterprises' guiding principles and business architecture including organization structure, process architecture and performance management, as well as supporting information, applications and technology.
- Knowledge of and ability to design and improve organizational IT structures and blueprints to better support business operations and efficiently achieve organizational objectives.
- Experience working with and deploying systems which incorporate best practice principles, patterns, and tools
- Lead architecture across functional and non-functional domains and technology platforms
- Collaboration skills and ability to work in a dynamic team environment and interact with resources from technical and non-technical organizations
- Strong understanding of business capability management strategies and solutions with hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering solutions
- Ability to identify opportunities for reusable data services to reduce data duplication
- Knowledge of, and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
- Knowledge of and ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments to improve work productivity and accuracy.
- Experience working with Business and IT Architects in requirements analysis and modeling tools (e.g., IRIS, Sparx, or other similar tools)
- Knowledge of Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK) and The Open Architecture Framework (TOGAF) or other architectural framework
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience and architecture practice experience
- Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations
- Proven executive presentation skills
Domicile Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. Preferred locations are Memphis, TN, Pittsburgh, PA, Orlando, FL, and Dallas, TX.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems and/or equivalent formal training.
Minimum Experience
Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to apply basic computer concepts, theories, principles and methods to projects, business problems, issues, and/or questions.
Strong communication skills.

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the currentstarting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factorspermitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: U.S. Pay Range: $110,496 to $198,900
