Enterprise Architect - Infrastructure & Collaboration - Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company

The OpportunityThe Enterprise Architect role within the Infrastructure & Collaboration group will be responsible for defining and maintaining an enterprise architecture for both Infrastructure and Collaboration platforms.
The Infrastructure architecture will include platform architecture for private, public, and hybrid cloud implementations across multiple cloud service providers including AWS and Azure enabling both cloud-native and cloud migration application patterns that ensure consistent security, operations and deployment models through infrastructure templates, controls and automation.
The TeamThe Enterprise Architect will help ensure the efficient and secure usage of Enterprise Infrastructure and Data Centers through capabilities for consumption management and policy controls.
This role will partner closely with security, SRE, engineering, operations and infrastructure teams to define and implement architecture road maps as well as supporting solution architecture for development teams with infrastructure capabilities that align to enterprise road maps and strategies.
The senior enterprise architect will also be responsible for evaluating and benchmarking new technologies, drafting technical standards, creating cloud architecture patterns and publishing architectural artifacts enabling MassMutual to make high impact, long term decisions.
This is a critical strategic architecture role to help drive digital transformation and create a competitive advantage for the companyThe Impact (Responsibilities): Infrastructure and Collaboration platform reference architectures and patternsTechnical evaluations of Infrastructure technologies including cloud application services and toolsTechnical evaluations of Collaboration technologies including Messaging, Document Management, and Client Computing Thought leadership and active participation in conferences and research with strategic partners and academic institutionsDefine the technical platform strategy for enterprise Application migration initiativesPartner with senior leaders to develop and maintain the Data Center strategyDefine Data Center architecture strategies and approaches to advance enterprise cloud initiativesPartner with business and technical partners on Application migration strategies for CloudPartner with EA domain architects and technology stakeholders to define and implement capabilities and patterns for security, data and operations in the cloudProvide recommendations on system options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and impact on cross-domain systems, business strategy, goals and processes.Partner with extended enterprise architecture, information security, compliance, business, and IT support teams to communicate and collaborate on architecture strategies, standards, and direction.
Partner with domain architects, SRE and solution architects to design and implement automation capabilities for cloud platform provisioning, configuration, deployment, security operations and audit.Technical evaluations and benchmarking of core infrastructure technologies including cloud providers, network architectures, and storage platformsSpecification and publication of standards around infrastructure configuration (network elements, servers, cloud environments)Thought leadership and active participation in conferences and research with strategic partners and academic institutionsDefine the technical platform strategy for enterprise infrastructure initiatives, such as data center relocations, network architecture changes and upgrades, etc.Partner with technology leaders to monitor executionDefine cloud and network architecture strategies and approaches to advance enterprise initiativesProvide recommendations on system options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and impact on cross-domain systems, business strategy, goals and processes.Partner with other enterprise architecture, business, and IT support teams to communicate, and collaborate on architecture strategies, standards, and direction.The Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related Technical degree8+ years of experience working with infrastructure technology architecture and design (DNS, IP routing and switching, SDN, docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Linux, MSFT technologies)2+ years of experience working with End User Technology Services platforms and technologies (e.g., Zoom, Slack, MS Suite, client computing..)2+ years of experience performing research and or large-scale system design, and benchmarking, and solutions documentationThe Ideal QualificationsMasters or PhD in Computer Science or related field10+ years extensive experience of providing architectural direction to project development teams or equivalent combination of education and work experienceExceptional written and verbal communication abilitiesTrack record of designing architectural reference materialExtensive experience of providing architectural direction to technical teamsInfrastructure/Cloud related certificationsWhat to Expect as Part of MassMutual and the TeamRegular meetings with the Enterprise Architecture teamFocused one-on-one meetings with your managerAccess to mentorship opportunitiesNetworking opportunities including access to Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, African American, women, LGBTQ, veteran and disability-focused Business Resource GroupsAccess to learning content on Degreed and other informational platformsYour ethics and integrity will be valued by a company with a strong and stable ethical nosiness with industry leading pay and benefits#LI-RK1Salary Range:$134,400.00-$176,400.00At MassMutual, we focus on ensuring fair equitable pay, by providing competitive salaries, along with incentive and bonus opportunities for all employees. Your total compensation package includes either a bonus target or in a sales-focused role a Variable Incentive Compensation component.Why Join Us.We’ve been around since 1851.
