Job Title : Enterprise Architect – Compute and Network
Location : Indianapolis, IN /Milwaukee, WI/ Detroit, MI/Chicago, IL
Mode : Contract || Long Term
Job Summary
The Enterprise Architect – Compute and Network is responsible for designing and implementing high-level architecture solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals. The role focuses on computing, networking, and infrastructure services to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The architect will collaborate with stakeholders to define technical standards, guide decision-making, and ensure integration of enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Architecture Design and Strategy:
Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework for compute, network, and infrastructure systems.
Define technology roadmaps and standards for cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
Align architecture with business objectives and IT strategy.
2. Compute and Network Optimization:
Design and oversee implementation of scalable compute resources (virtualized environments, servers, and storage systems).
Architect robust networking solutions, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and wireless networks.
Enhance system reliability, security, and performance.
3. Collaboration and Leadership:
Collaborate with technical teams, business units, and vendors to implement solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to IT teams.
Act as a key advisor in technology acquisition and vendor selection.
4. Technology Governance:
Establish and enforce best practices and policies for compute and network systems.
Monitor compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
5. System Integration and Modernization:
Ensure seamless integration of new and existing technologies.
Lead modernization efforts for legacy compute and network systems.
Support cloud migration initiatives and hybrid architecture adoption.
6. Performance and Capacity Management:
Analyze current infrastructure to identify performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges.
Implement monitoring tools and metrics for ongoing infrastructure optimization.
Skills and Certifications:
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, etc.) and technologies (firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN).
Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, Cisco CCIE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar.
