• 7+ years’ experience as semiconductor R&D technician, testing, measurement, or related experience in semiconductor industry.

• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
Job Summary
• As a lab technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, setup, and deployment of systems under test for the Custom CPU Power & Performance team, following and adapting established procedures in a dynamic lab environment. Performs set-up, maintenance, and/or repairs of systems under test, and may provide input on equipment issues, selection and setup. Debugs and troubleshoots issues or failures, reports results, and may recommend root causes and solutions. Assists with inventory, asset tracking, system orders, and shipping/receiving.
Additional Roles and Responsibilities
• Works semi-independently with little supervision in a lab environment.
• General hardware assembly, firmware/OS flashing, and deployment of systems to test benches or racks.
• Troubleshoots general system boot or connectivity issues
• Works with Custom CPU engineers across a wide range of areas and understands how to execute tests and collect data efficiently.
• May perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment. Assignments are semi routine in nature.
• Work performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems.
• Normally receives general instructions on most work.
• Requires good verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be somewhat complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and entering new hardware into inventory systems
• Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; attention to detail is a must.
• Ability to execute test plans and collect data efficiently based on engineer’s instructions and requirements.
• Experience with reading schematics and Allegro board files a plus
• Experience working with test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters and other standard lab equipment, as well as loading and running programs or firmware.
• Experienced with assembly, setup, and deployment of test systems in a R&D environment.
• Ability to Identify issues with test equipment and assist in coordination of repairs while documenting steps to prevent future issues.
• Maintain and organize lab equipment and accessories.
• Advanced PCB soldering skills is a plus
• Experience with inventory management and asset tracking highly preferred.
• Identifies, debugs and troubleshoots basic to advanced system issues or failures.
• Ability to setup and power up a system with required BIOS/FW images and parts socketed.
• Communicates across teams to provide status and information about impeding obstacles and implements remediation to prevent future issues.
• Manages and understands teams project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with minimum guidance.
Comfortable in a multi-OS environment, Linux or Android experience is a plus.
• Experience with Issue and Project Tracking Software such as Jira a plus.
