Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Technician IV to join our team, focusing on photolithography semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role involves providing onsite installations, repairs, and maintenance for state-of-the-art equipment. The position is based in Hillsboro, Oregon, with initial training provided in Austin, Texas, or Hillsboro, Oregon for 1-3 months.
As part of our team, you will work in a cutting-edge technology environment, supporting pre-production processes and improving equipment operations. A compressed work schedule requiring flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with factory specifications.
- Train customers on system operation and maintenance.
- Act as a company liaison for installations and major component replacements.
- Independently perform complex repairs, maintenance, or unit replacements following factory guidelines.
- Provide technical support to customers, addressing questions and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Identify and report equipment performance issues to aid troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and provide periodic updates.
- Conduct training to ensure customer proficiency in service and operations.
- Collaborate with field technicians to troubleshoot and service equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (technical training, military training, or technical school) with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in semiconductor manufacturing equipment or related fields.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems preferred.
- Hands-on mechanical and electronic testing skills required.
- Experience with optical, lasers, software, robotics, or precision mechanical skills is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Customer support experience is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under challenging situations.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment, requiring full cleanroom attire.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically as required.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with company driving policies.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds unassisted, with support available for heavier items.
- Comfortable with extensive standing, walking, and engaging in physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to work in proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, ultraviolet light, and lasers.
- Compliance with customer policies and protocols, including COVID-19 requirements, for customer-facing roles.
Work Environment:
- Involves cleanroom operations, physical tasks such as kneeling, crouching, and climbing, and work in time-sensitive conditions.
- May require handling small parts, performing inspections, and operating machinery in enclosed spaces.
