Job Summary:
The Engineering Technician IV position supports the NASA IT infrastructure and Audio-Visual (A/V) collaboration solutions for the International Space Station (ISS) Program. This role involves rapid response to conference room issues and ensures high-quality transmission and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves rapid response to conference room issues and ensures high-quality transmission and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and analyze engineering designs, schematics, electrical drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct technical analyses and testing for IT and A/V conference room equipment.
- Install, support, and maintain IT and A/V equipment for legacy and new systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and apply software updates or patches.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to conference room equipment, networks, and hardware/software.
- Provide ad-hoc training to end-users and room operators to enhance system usability.
- Resolve work orders and incidents according to service level agreements.
- Work closely with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges.
- Engage in root cause analysis to prevent incident recurrence.
- Monitor data traffic and ensure network resource performance aligns with operational standards.
- Conduct dry runs and testing to verify system readiness.
Required Skills:
- AS or BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience in cable plant work with fiber optic, copper, and category cabling.
- 3+ years of experience troubleshooting A/V and network equipment.
- Proficient in troubleshooting A/V conference equipment and IT systems.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret network drawings, identify telecom color codes, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Expertise in configuring switches, routers, and WAN acceleration devices.
- Knowledge of systems such as Crestron, AMX, Cisco, and other conferencing technologies
Salary
33 - 35 /hour
