The Preferred Candidate Will Have:
- VDOT Asphalt I and II Certifications
- WACEL Certifications in Soils, Concrete, Foundation, and Structural Masonry
DUTIES
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform routine quality control test procedures including concrete and nuclear moisture / density testing
- Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
- Complete and submit daily reports and Job Hazard Analysis forms
- Familiar with applicable plans and specification
- Notify supervisor or Project Manager immediately of problems and deviations from plans and specifications
- Frequent exposure to clients
- May occasionally make limited recommendations in the field after consultation with PM and/or Engineer
- May have limited responsibility for assisting, directing and/or training entry-level technicians
- Maintain a driving record free of specific violations
- May perform field work within other company disciplines
- May schedule client meetings and/or additional services
- May occasionally attend job site related meetings
- May occasionally perform routine testing in the lab
- Strive to make each project profitable
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- 1-4 years of formal industry experience required
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must possess the ability to read, write and perform basic math
- Must be comfortable communicating with the public
- Must be comfortable with regular use of email, internet and basic Microsoft Office applications
- Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environment
This position may require long term standing and repetitive motions. Must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
