As a Test Technician, you will:
Responsibilities
- The Test Technician – Electrical/Mechanical is responsible for maintaining and operating electrical and mechanical testing rigs, performing design validation, and verifying the performance of electronics and electro-mechanical products.
- This role includes assembling and disassembling test rigs, particularly for electric motors, and ensuring the functionality of lab equipment used for product testing and validation.
- Work with Engineering to understand and apply defined test methods and requirements.
- Maintain lab equipment in good working order.
- Troubleshoot defective lab equipment, provide first attempt at repairing broken equipment, and lead routine maintenance of equipment, as needed.
- Build test harnesses, load boxes, and test fixtures to support product verification, as required, with minimal supervision.
- Document and maintain records relating to work performed.
- Inform supervisor of process, test, or design problems and provide recommendation for corrective action.
- Design and assemble electrical/mechanical fixtures and test setups as required.
- Perform inspection, test, and failure analysis as necessary to determine cause of defective tests and assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Create test documentation when required for prototype products if engineering instructions are not available.
- Communicate in a professional and effective manner.
- Perform other associated tasks as required.
- Mechanical aptitude- Dyno precision, electrical knowledge- troubleshooting wire harnesses, assembling test fixtures.
