About the Job
Working in Transmission Operations at LCRA is working in the heart of the electric grid in Texas.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the capability to lead a dynamic team that is instrumental in the execution of hundreds of millions of dollars of projects, responding to rapid expansion of renewables and large loads, proactively managing grid congestion, analyzing large data sets, developing specialized software, driving continuous improvement, and creating automated solutions to solve complex challenges.
This position would provide leadership to a staff that currently consists of four engineers with support from one additional engineering contractor. This position reports to the Manager of Transmission Operations Engineering, Coordination, and Training.
You will be trusted to: - Provides leadership and direction to staff. Hires, trains, promotes, assigns work, evaluates and manages performance and handles all aspects of staff supervision. Maintains awareness of department issues and responds to employee needs and concerns. Communicates with employees to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information. |
You qualify with: - Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus six or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job, including providing technical leadership in engineering/design. You are a great fit with: - Experience running complex analysis in power engineering, examples include power flow analysis, short circuit studies, interconnection studies, and/or developing relay settings. |
