Overview
Lupin is comprised of a fast growing, innovative and robust team of manufacturing, Research and Development and commercial divisions. Together these entities make up the generic and branded U.S. business. Lupin has a significant generic pipeline, and a branded focus on women’s health. Our first Research and Development facility in the US is located in Coral Springs, Florida which focuses on generic and branded orally inhaled and nasal drug products. Somerset, New Jersey is home to one of Fifteen commercial manufacturing sites globally and the only commercial manufacturing facility in the United States for Lupin, as well as additional Research and Development teams. Responsibilities
Role and Responsibilities
The engineering Mechanic is responsible maintaining equipment associated with manufacturing and packaging activities; within the Lupin Somerset sites. This position is responsible for maintaining equipment in good state of repair, perform equipment breakdowns, assist in execution of any Capital Improvement Projects and completing compliance documentation on time (i.e., Work Orders, Equipment repair tickets in SAP, Purchase Requisitions in SAP, Maintenance Schedules, etc.). This is a 2nd Shift Role - 2:00 p.m. - 10:15 pm
- Supports daily operation of manufacturing and packaging by maintaining equipment, associated with these activities
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain equipment in a good state of repair.
- Perform break down, troubleshooting such as mechanical, electrical/electronics, PLC and pneumatic but not limited to, and implement corrective actions.
- Communicates with service vendor and manufacturer for trouble shooting; as and when required.
- Support in change overs as and when required.
- Assist in the execution of any Capital Improvement Projects.
- Supports designs and aids in fabrication of machine modifications as per business requirement.
- Respond to emergency calls.
- Follow all SOPs, cGMP compliance and Safety guidelines.
- Supports in Quality investigations and implementation of CAPA.
- Establishes and maintains spare parts inventory.
- Participate in the engineering department meetings and implement the company’s strategic plan
- Support Facility maintenance team as and when required.
- Expected to work at a constant reasonable pace, neatly and efficiently, and as a team player with other employees
- Set the example for teamwork, cooperation, safety, respect and work ethic for all employees
Qualifications
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Technical School/ Industrial Certifications, or High school diploma or related discipline preferred.
- Experience 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of cGMP practices and compliance guidelines.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow SOPs written in English.
- General troubleshooting and mechanical, electro/pneumatic troubleshooting skills necessary to diagnose, disassemble, repair and reassemble equipment
- Knowledge of SAP, a plus.

Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of the position generally include: standing, walking, sitting, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, talking and hearing. In some circumstances, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and crawling may apply. This position may require lifting up to 15 pounds occasionally. Generally work is performed in an office environment.
